Jane Eyre, a novel by English writer Charlotte Brontë, was published in 1847, and has several times been adapted for the screen. It traces the tumultuous life of heroine Jane Eyre from childhood to adulthood, telling the story of her loveless childhood and her enduring love for the Byronic hero, Mr. Rochester, master of Thornfield Hall.
