Robinson Crusoe Theme Music from 1970s TV show
The Adventures of Robinson Crusoe was a French-German children’s television drama series made by Franco London Films (a.k.a. FLF Television Paris). The series was based on the first of Daniel Defoe’s Robinson Crusoe novels, but is perhaps best remembered for the haunting theme music composed for the English-language version.

This 13-episode series was the definitive TV version of Daniel Defoe’s classic novel, Robinson Crusoe. From 1965 to the early 1980s, the show was screened on BBC during the summer holiday season.
The island scenes in the series were filmed in the Canary Islands off the coast of Morocco, and most of the footage was shot mute, as there was little dialogue. Sound was dubbed in later. The English locations (York/Hull) were shot in Normandy, France.
